Mascot: Tony the Tiger

Kellogg’s Sugar Frosted Flakes of Corn was introduced in 1952. Kellogg’s ran a contest with the introduction of the cereal. They wanted the consumer to pick the official mascot for their cereal. In the running were Katy the Kangaroo, Elmo the Elephant, Newt the Gnu and Tony the Tiger. It was a fierce battle, but a year later Tony the Tiger was victorious. The original voice of Tony the Tiger was Dallas McKennon who also voiced Gumby and the original Snap, Crackle and Pop voices for Rice Krispies.

Walmart’s new pizza in a bag featuring Pepperoni Jerky

Walmart is launching a new pizza slice concept. The pizza comes in a bag shaped like a traditional slice of pizza. It will be available in three flavors with pepperoni jerky. The suggested price will be $3.98 each.

I am speechless. KFC Canada is introducing the Double-Down sandwich with a golden Belgian waffle nestled between two pieces of fried chicken at participating restaurants. Nothing screams Canada more by adding maple aioli sauce to this monstrosity. I think it is a good time to do some cross-border shopping.
