Gardein (Conagra) has launched a full range of meat-flavored vegan soups. They include five plant-based versions of Chick’n Noodl’ Soup, Saus’ge Gumbo Soup, Minestrone & Saus’ge Soup, Be’f & Vegetable Soup, and Chick’n & Rice Soup.
“Inspired by everyone’s favorite sick-day savior, it’s chicken noodle soup – gone vegan. Cozy up to a bowl of plump noodl’s, carrots, celery, and tender chunks of plant-based chick’n.”
There are two things that can kill this market, price and taste. I have tried many healthy soups in the past and usually, both are a deterrent. The meat-flavored vegan soups are in the 3.00 US range. You can buy chicken noodle soup for a lot less. This will keep the non-vegans out of the equation.
Fun Fact: In 1962, renowned artist Andy Warhol painted the wildly popular 32 Campbell’s Soup Cans, which included Chicken Noodle soup, further establishing the brand in pop culture.
