Cap’n Crunch is turning 60 years old in 2023 according to the box manufactured by the Quaker Oats Company. The commemorative box is already appearing on Walmart shelves. Cap’n Crunch says that you have your cake and eat it, too. The character was created by Allan Burns, who became known for co-creating The Munsters and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Animator Jay Ward introduced Cap’n Crunch to television sets in 1963. Daws Butler of Yogi Bear voice fame provided the original voice of the Cap’n until his death in 1988.
