Wendy’s is releasing in three select markets a new hamburger. The Spicy Black Bean Burger is made with black beans, carrots, brown rice, red and green bell peppers, wheatberries, corn, and a blend of spices. The burger is topped up with crispy-fried chipotle jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, spicy chipotle sauce, tomatoes, onion, and Romain on a toasted premium bun.

Consumers are demanding plant-based sandwiches, and we’re answering the call in a way that only Wendy’s can with a mouthwatering sandwich packed with multiple layers of heat and flavor.”
Wendy’s is taking a different approach to plant-based burgers. Beyond Meat has teamed up with McDonald’s, KFC, and Pizza Hut. Wendy’s has opted for a more classic veggie option, featuring a black bean patty seasoned with paprika and chipotle pepper. The war of non-traditional meat burgers is on, who will win nobody knows yet. Things are heating up, hopefully, the consumer will be the winner.
