Hershey is unveiling an exciting new addition to its lineup with the launch of Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies, created in collaboration with basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal. This bold and playful snack taps into the rising demand for soft, chewy candy, particularly among a younger, trend-savvy audience. Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies are available in two tempting varieties: Original and Sour. The Original offers a delicious mix of peach, berry punch, and orange flavors, with each gummy shaped like the legendary Shaq himself. Meanwhile, the Sour variety brings a zesty twist, featuring gummies shaped after Shaq’s famous monikers—Diesel, The Big Cactus, and The Big Shamrock—in vibrant pineapple, mixed berry, and watermelon flavors. This irresistible blend of flavor and fun promises to elevate the candy experience and pay homage to one of basketball’s towering figures.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Shaq, a candy lover and cultural icon, to bring more fun to our gummy products,” Vivek Mehrotra, Hershey’s brand manager for sweets, said in a comment provided to Food Dive. “The gummy market is booming, growing nearly twice as fast as chocolate, offering us a dynamic space for innovation and creativity.”
At the time, CEO Michele Buck said the offering provided an opportunity to tap into the basketball great’s “connectivity with consumers, especially young diverse consumers, who are our key target on the gummy segment.”
