Campbell’s Soup Company has announced that it’s ditching the “Soup” part of its name after over a century of ladling out tomato goodness to the masses. During a recent investor meeting in New York City, the company revealed its bold plan to rebrand as “The Campbell’s Company.” The goal? To remind everyone that they serve up more than just soup. Yes, there’s life beyond chicken noodles!
Founded in 1869, the company first earned the title “Campbell Soup Company” in 1922, but with offerings that range from snacks to sauces, the word “soup” felt a little, well, limiting. So, after 155 years, it’s time for Campbell’s to stretch its culinary wings—or maybe crackers—and embrace a new identity. Whether this move will leave soup lovers stirring in confusion or grabbing for Goldfish crackers remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: it’s no longer just about the broth!
So, does this mean I need to break out the eraser and scrub “soup” off my Andy Warhol prints now? Or should I just call them “vintage Campbell’s art” from here on out?
