Philadelphia promises plant-based cream cheese is just as creamy as the original

Philadelphia wants you to eat healthier without compromising taste and quality. The company has its sights on plant-based cream cheese. The demand for plant-based foods is increasing each year. 2022 looks like a banner year for well-known companies to finally commit to longer-term products.

The dairy-free offering, which was two years in the making, is made from a blend of oats and almonds, according to the brand. It also comes in 100 percent recyclable packaging, with recycled plastic on the way—a move the brand says is part of its continuing sustainability journey. North America will have to wait a bit more to taste the plant-based cheese.

“With over half a million people taking part in this year’s Veganuary, the appetite for plant-based alternatives has never been more apparent,” Louise Stigant, UK Managing Director of Mondelēz International, which owns the UK arm of the Philadelphia brand, said in a statement. “We’ve worked hard to make sure new Philadelphia Plant Based really delivers the same great taste and creaminess that people love and expect from Philadelphia and we’re delighted that there’s now a Philadelphia product for everyone—not a bagel or slice of toasted sourdough ever needs to go without again.”

Also, look out for plant-based Babybel. It’s a perfect alternative to cheese. The Bel Group planned to launch the vegan cheese range in the US. However, this has not yet been realized.
