Marvel Comics: Cooking With Deadpool

When it comes to cooking with superheroes, Superman and Batman come to mind. With Superman’s super-speed and heat vision, cooking can be a flash and your food would always be warm. Batman has Alfred who can whip up any exotic recipe at his beckoning. Now when it comes to Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth has built an extensive appetite for digestion.  With the help of Marc Sumerak and recipes by Elena P. Craig and Deadpool’s constant fourth wall blistering babbling side notes, cooking has never been this exciting. Cooking with Deadpool will make your stomach a ‘true believer’ in culinary diversity.  There will be an occasional mishap in the kitchen. What did you expect from Deadpool? The dude lives on the fringes of danger. Is your stomach ready for recipes such as Negasonic Warheads, Fireballs, Controlled Burn, Chick-Arrones, and Stabby Meat Sticks? What is a cookbook without a whole section of chimichanga recipes?

The recipes are beautifully photographed by Ted Thomas with easy-to-follow instructions. Now when it comes to kitchen safety Deadpool is hands down the perfect individual to show how to handle a knife. He might lose a few digits here and there, but they will regenerate easily. When it comes to tenderizing meat, we do not have to go there. Deadpool has been pounding meat most of his mutant life. With over 60 recipes, there are bound to be a few recipes that will be a hit in your household. Sure, Deadpool does not have the finesse as Alfred but who would you rather have in your kitchen? I think I will pass the caviar for a steak fajita ‘chimi’ and some Gingerpool cookies.

They say variety is the spice of life, there is plenty in this smash-mouth recipe book.

(Insight Editions) Deadpool brings his inimitable style, foulmouthed humor, and notorious skill with a blade to the kitchen in this hilarious take on a traditional cookbook. The book features tons of classic recipes with a Deadpool spin…and whole lotta chimichangas.

No Super Hero takes food quite as seriously as Deadpool. In this gorgeously designed cookbook that paid reviewers have described as “glorious” and “the best cookbook I’ve ever read,” Deadpool offers his take on a curated collection of epicurean classics.

Narrated by the wisecracking merc (and sexy master chef) himself, this book includes over 60 recipes inspired by some of his closest friends/enemies (here’s lookin’ at you, Spidey) and his favorite meals, including chimichangas, tacos, pancakes, and hamburgers with no pickles. This comprehensive culinary guide is complete with recipe modification suggestions, illustrations, and mouthwatering full-color photography. This is the ultimate gift for seasoned cooks and Marvel fans alike!

Fun Fact: Legend has it that the founder of the Tucson, Arizona, restaurant El Charro, accidentally dropped a burrito into the deep-fat fryer in 1922. She immediately began to utter a Spanish profanity beginning “chi…” (chingada), but quickly stopped herself and instead exclaimed chimichanga, a Spanish equivalent of “thingamajig”.
