Diana Ejaita’s “Tastes of Home”

    Diana Ejaita’s “Tastes of Home”

Here is some food for thought for this Thanksgiving. The latest cover by Diana Ejaita of The New Yorker celebrates diversity for Thanksgiving. Her mother is Italian and her dad is Nigerian which makes Thanksgiving a special occasion.

“She talks with the art editor Françoise Mouly about how ex-pats carry their favorite foods wherever they go. When Italians and Nigerians go abroad, both groups of ex-pats load most of their luggage with food from home. I find it quite funny how much Nigerians and Italians have in common. Each believes their food is the best in the world, and both are a little snobbish about other cuisines.”
