Akua launches new kid-friendly SpongeBob kelp burgers
Nickelodeon has partnered with Akua, the maker of the first-ever kelp burger, to bring the joy of SpongeBob SquarePants’ culinary skills to young fans. The project offers slider-sized Kelp Patties that allow kids to savor the deliciousness of SpongeBob’s world firsthand.
You can now enjoy delicious eco-friendly patties that are plant-based and crafted using ocean-farmed kelp. These delightful patties come in two flavors- original and BBQ and are suitable for all ages. You can find them at select retailers across the United States or at PLNT Burger outlets starting in July.
“Akua’s Kelp Patties offers a delicious and nutritious option for kids while staying true to Akua’s mission of creating great-tasting and planet-friendly food choices,” says Courtney Boyd Myers, founder of Akua. “Crafted from 100 percent sustainable ocean-farmed kelp, these kid-friendly patties are not only tasty but also contribute to improving the health of little humans and the health of our vast oceans.”
Akua is a company that was established in 2017 and is dedicated to producing ocean-farmed, kelp-based products. Their main goal is to reduce the prevalence of factory farming by utilizing the benefits of regenerative ocean farming. Akua sources its kelp from a network of ocean farmers in the clean waters of the New England seaboard. Recently, Akua partnered with the popular Nickelodeon character, SpongeBob SquarePants, to introduce new types of Kelp Patties. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to provide sustainable and healthy alternatives to traditional meat and highly processed meat substitutes.
