Ed Sheeran wants to give everyone the tingles with his two new sauces. Tingly Ted’s will come in two varieties: Tingly and Xtra Tingly. The sauces are made using red jalapenos and capsicum chilies. Tingly was a nickname given to Ed Sheeran when he was younger.
“I travel a lot, so having a bottle in my suitcase wherever I go that can spice up any and every meal seemed like a good idea,” Sheeran said in a release. “I knew I didn’t wanna do a watery hot sauce, as they usually all get relegated to the same shelf of other random hot sauces. I wanted to make a sauce that took the same pride of place as ketchup.”
“I felt like something was profoundly missing in my life, and after much soul searching, I realized it was a proper hot sauce,” Sheeran wrote in an Instagram post announcing his new line of sauces.
Fun Fact: Did you know that jalapenos are actually bright red when they are fully ripe? These chilies are most commonly picked when they are still green, but if left to ripen they turn bright red. The red ones are a little spicier and tend to be hotter than those picked before they were ripe. After they are dried, they turn a deep purple color.
