Nomu Mayo: Lawson’s New Drinkable Mayonnaise Trend

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to drink mayonnaise? If that sounds like your idea of an exciting culinary adventure, you’re in for a treat! Lawson, a well-known convenience store chain in Japan, has unveiled a bold new product: “Nomu Mayo,” a drinkable mayonnaise. That said, this inventive creation may have overlooked one universal truth: with enough confidence, any mayonnaise is technically drinkable.

The company emphasizes that Nomu Mayo is marketed as a “mayonnaise-style drink” rather than actual mayonnaise. So, no, grabbing a bottle of Hellmann’s from your pantry and chugging it won’t replicate the experience. According to one user on X who sampled the product, it’s made with a blend of “milk, a dairy-like ingredient, and mayonnaise seasoning,” creating a unique flavor profile distinct from traditional mayo.

One Reddit user who tried the drink wrote, “I just tried it, and it’s awful, just like you’d expect. Liquid mayo, salty, mayo-y, maybe a bit dilly? Not sure about the last one, but I couldn’t handle more than one sip.” Another local X user added, “I tried it, so you don’t have to. Tipped it down the drain.”
