Little Caesars Fun Facts

As a baseball player, Mike Ilitch the founder of Little Caesars used to scout pizza joints in the 50s when he traveled from town to town. Mike and his wife Marian opened the first location in Garden City, Michigan, in 1959, and by 1962 they’d sold their first franchise. Marian had a pet name for her husband, she called him her “Little Caesar.” Since then the company stayed true to its roots and is the third biggest pizza chain after Pizza Hut and Domino’s Pizza. To this day we still do not know what she meant by Little Caesar. If you notice Little Caesar’s toga at the bottom, you will see LC-LC-LC-LC. The pizza dough business has made the couple amass a fortune that is estimated to be around $4.2 billion. In 1993, the chain created French-fry crust pizza and little buckets that were filled with spaghetti.
